MAYOR REDD ANNOUNCES RETURN OF TWICE A WEEK TRASH COLLECTION STARTING MAY 1; STREET SWEEPING TO RECOMMENCE ON MAY 5

CAMDEN – Beginning Thursday, May 1, 2014, the City of Camden will recommence with a twice a week trash collection schedule continuing through to the end of September.  The City will also recommence with residential street sweeping starting May 5, 2014.  Street sweeping will be performed on a bi-weekly basis by schedule posted on “no parking” signage in each city neighborhood.  Residents are requested to move their vehicles as per the no parking signage on the days and times posted.

Vehicles parked in the no parking areas on the dates and times posted will be subject to ticketing.  During inclement weather and/or holidays, street sweeping may be suspended or cancelled.  To report missing or damaged signage please, contact the Department of Public Works at 856-757-7034.

Residents or businesses who have questions, would like to obtain more information about their trash collection schedule, need to know which trash collection district they live in, or would like to pick-up a recycling bin should call the City Department of Public Works Hotline at 856-757-7034 or visit the City webpage at www.ci.camden.nj.us.

Also, as required by the state electronic waste management act, electronic waste or e-waste items such as televisions, all personal or portable computers, computer monitors and other electronics cannot be disposed with regular trash.  Residents can call the Camden County Division of Environmental Affairs at 856-858-5241 for information on their e-waste recycling events (proof of residency will be required).  Information on e-waste recycling events can also be found online at http://www.camdencounty.com/parks/recycling-info/camden-county-recycling.
